What have we got in store for us this half term?
In English this half term, we will be exploring the book ‘Tadpoles Promise’ by Jeanne Will. We will be learning about complex sentences using when, if and because in our sentences. We will be writing a chronological report. We will also be working on our beautiful letter formation and presentation.
Our reading lessons will look the same as what they did in Year 1 and we will also be continuing with Accelerated Reader. Throughout our reading sessions, we will also be learning some new reading skills as a whole class.
In spelling, we will be exploring other Year 2 spelling rules.
In Maths, we will be continuing our learning of money. We will then be moving on to multiplication and division. We will be continuing our new arithmetic sessions of counting, place value and addition and subtraction.

Music – recognising different sounds
PSHE – citizenship
RE – what is a prophet?
PE – Tuesdays – Football (outdoors), Thursdays – Gymnastics (indoors). Please send your child in appropriate clothing for PE without earrings or sending in your own plasters to cover these.

If your child has specific additional interventions in connection with an IEP or outside support agency Mrs Stafford will be in touch to provide you with resources to support at home. You can also find additional support on the SEND page of this website.
SUAT supports and leads in the set-up of new academies joining the partnership. The services provided by the central support function cover both educational and non-educational support. In terms of educational support, SUAT is linked to the School of Education of Staffordshire University, which is an outstanding ITT provider.
