No Outsiders In Our School!

Here at Charnwood Academy we teach tolerance and understanding of difference to all pupils in our school. At EYFS/KS1 children need to learn about diverse family models. They also need to learn the skills needed to work with and respect people who are the same as well as different from themselves.

At KS2 children need to learn more specifically about the harmful effects of discrimination. They also need to learn how they can help make society a safer and more welcoming space for everyone.

Tolerance is always age appropriate.

We are teaching tolerance and respect we are not teaching children what their beliefs are. That is for you to teach and discuss at home.

We want everyone to feel equal and be treated as equal at Charnwood. Through lessons and picture books we aim to support children in understanding the differences of people living in their local community and within the country and world. We are using the No Outsiders at our school book by Andrew Moffat as our guide.

Please contact school if you would like to find out more.
