Welcome to Nursery!

Welcome to our Nursery!  Here you will find information about our topic for the term and useful links to resources which might help you at home with your child.

Spring 2

Our topic this half-term is

‘Traditional Tales’.

Our topic this half term is ‘Traditional Tales’.  We are going to be exploring well-known and much-loved fairy tales including The Gingerbread Man, The 3 Little Pigs, Red Riding Hood and more.  We have some very exciting events coming up including World Book Day where the children will take part in a morning of fun activities on our school theme of Roald Dahl.  As the seasons change, we will look for signs of Spring during our fortnightly visits to the woods.

We will be visiting our on-site woodland once a fortnight to help us to learn about seasons.  Details of when we’re visiting will be on our dates list.

If you have any questions or anything you want to discuss with us, please chat to us at drop off and pick up times, or send us a message on dojo.

We are excited to share our learning with you.

Here are our key dates for this half term:

What could you do at home?

The most important thing you can do to support your child at home is read with them – as much as possible!

Here is a list of great books to read with Nursery aged children:

The Gruffalo – Julia Donaldson

Elmer – David McKee

The Tiger Who Came to Tea – Judith Kerr

The Very Hungry Caterpillar – Eric Carle

Dogger – Shirley Hughes

Dear Zoo – Rod Campbell

Five Minutes Peace – Jill Murphy

We’re Going on a Bear Hunt – Michael Rosen

Giraffes Can’t Dance – Giles Andreae

How to Catch a Star – Oliver Jeffers

We do lots of counting at Nursery.  This half term we are going to use this song to help us as we continue to become more confident with our counting:
