Funding


At Charnwood Primary Academy we aim to equip all children with the knowledge, skills and motivation necessary to equip them for a healthy, active lifestyle. Through our sports funding we have been able to provide a range of different amenities which has developed the teaching and learning of PE within the school.  Below we have outlined how we intend to spend our PE funding for the current year.

In 2016/17 the funding was used for the following things:

  • Purchase of PE equipment to develop the teaching of a range of different activities within the school.
  • Use of outside agency to develop teacher’s subject knowledge in all aspects of PE.
  • Use of outside agency to promote different sporting activities with a range of after school clubs.
  • Purchase of sports equipment to enable the children to participate in competitions and matches.
  • Purchase of PE equipment for previously unavailable sports in school supplemented with outside agency coaching.
  • Purchase of outdoor play equipment to engage the children during lunchtimes.
  • Purchase of IPads to allow staff to evaluate children's technique in PE sessions and document progress of sports teams.
  • Purchase of balanceability cycling kit for Early Years.

In the financial year of 2017/18 we plan to continue to develop the subject knowledge of the teacher’s by using outside agencies to team teach, therefore ensuring teachers are able to provide quality coaching to all children in a variety of sports. Through our sports funding we have been able to provide a range of different amenities which has developed the teaching and learning of PE within the school. In 2015/16 the funding was used for the following things:

  • Use of outside agency to develop teacher’s subject knowledge in all aspects of PE.
  • Purchase of netball equipment to develop the schools netball provision and to enable the children to participate in competitions and matches.
  • Purchase of PE equipment to develop the teaching of a range of different activities within the school.
  • Purchase of YST (youth sports trust) membership to develop PE subject leaders knowledge.
  • Use of outside agency to develop teacher’s subject knowledge in gymnastics and dance.
  • Use of outside agency to promote different sporting activities with a range of after school clubs.
  • Purchase of outdoor play equipment to engage the children during lunchtimes.

WE ARE PROUD TO BE A PART OF SUA TRUST 

SUAT supports and leads in the set-up of new academies joining the partnership.  The services provided by the central support function cover both educational and non-educational support.  In terms of educational support, SUAT is linked to the School of Eduction of Staffordshire University, which is an outstanding ITT provider.
